Eur.Friends

I designed this app for the university UHasselt. EUR.Friends is an inter-regional project that facilitates and promotes internships in other languages than the mother tongue for senior high school students in the “Euregion” (the border region between Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany).

The app helps young (almost) graduates to write application letters in one of the languages (Dutch, French, German). It provides a custom dictionary that holds the most common words and sentences per working context, in all three languages. The students can easily learn these simple day-to-day phrases by listening to and saving audio fragments.

As one of this projects’ requirements was to not change any functionalities, the biggest challenge was to improve usability by visual design only within the constraints of the specific dev framework and the out-of-the-box components used. As a ux designer this was a tough but enriching experience.
